In a message marking the celebration, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the holiday as a joyful time for Cambodians to honour their rich cultural heritage, reunite with family and friends, and look ahead with hope to the year ahead.
He reaffirmed that the US values its longstanding relationship with Cambodia, underscoring the strong people-to-people ties that continue to connect the two countries.
The message also expressed hope that bilateral relations will continue to deepen and deliver mutual benefits for both nations as cooperation expands across various sectors.
“As Cambodians everywhere celebrate with generosity, reflection, and renewal, we join you in wishing for peace, prosperity, and good health in the coming year,” Rubio said.
