    The following are congratulatory messages from Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Indra Mani Pandey, the Secretary-General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), Mr Toshio Nishimura, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Nagoya, Japan, Mr Noriatsu Otomori, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kobe, Japan and Ricardo Cateb Cury, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in São Paulo/Brazil sent to President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing on his election as President.

    Dear Mr President,

    Please allow me to cordially congratulate you on your election as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

    We know you as an experienced politician and a talented statesman and military leader who has repeatedly demonstrated through actions your dedication to the interests of your country and the aspirations of the people of Myanmar, upholding its values and centuries-old traditions. You have built a distinguishedmilitary career, rising from service in the land forces to the rank of Senior General and Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar’s armed forces — steadfastly defending thecountry’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
