The Transit and Mobility Agency (ATM) reminded citizens that motorcycle officers are not authorized to impose fines on drivers.
Infractions, he pointed out, can only be issued in previously coordinated operations or through the video surveillance systems of the ATM Control and Monitoring Center.
According to the entity, in the first 30 days management of the administration headed by Édgar Lupera, 50 agents have been sanctioned for incurring incorrect procedures on the roads.
One of the most commented episodes was the dissemination of a video on social networks in which two agents were observed talking while riding a motorcycle in the same lane on the road to the coast. The incident generated citizen questions and led to internal actions.
“The traffic personnel will have my full support; however, the bad elements will face the full weight of the law,” Lupera emphasized.
The ATM indicated that citizens can report irregularities, bad procedures or alleged acts of corruption through their social media accounts.
So far, according to the institution, more than 110 complaints have been attended to and resolved through these platforms. (YO)
