Latakia, May 2 (SANA) A festival titled “Festival of Special Will for People with Disabilities” was held at the sports hall on the southern Corniche in Latakia. The event aimed to highlight the abilities and skills of people with disabilities and promote their integration into society.
The festival, organized by the Latakia Directorate of Education in cooperation with the “Coach Intisar” initiative, included sports demonstrations, skills competitions and educational presentations showcasing participants’ talents, with the participation of several supporting associations and initiatives.
Director of Education Directorate Walid Kaboula stressed the importance of bringing joy to children with disabilities and strengthening their role in society, expressing appreciation to all those who contributed to the event’s success.
Organizers said that supporting children with disabilities remains a priority, with efforts focused on developing specialized sports and educational programs and improving systems to identify and nurture talent.
They added that the event highlighted the role of sports in building children’s self-confidence and enabling them to become active members of society.
The event is part of ongoing efforts to promote inclusion and provide a supportive environment that enhances the educational and athletic potential of people with disabilities.
