The woman known as the “Queen of Ketamine” guilty of trafficking the anesthetic that caused actor Matthew Perry’s fatal dose in 2023 was sentenced to 15 years in prison this Wednesday.
In September 2025 Jasveen Sangha pleaded guilty to one count of maintaining a premises related to drug trafficking, three counts of distribution of ketamine and one count of distribution of this anesthetic causing death or serious bodily injury to affected persons.
In the sentencing memorandum, prosecutors claimed that for years Sangha, 42, who is blamed for the deaths of at least two people, including Perry, operated a drug trafficking business from his North Hollywood residence.
“To cultivate her business, (Sangha) promoted herself as an exclusive distributor serving a high-profile Hollywood clientele… While (Sangha) worked to expand and profit from her drug trafficking, she knew—and ignored—the serious harm her conduct was causing,” the brief noted.
According to court documents, Sangha, one of the five people responsible for the ‘Friends’ actor’s death, collaborated with Erik Fleming to distribute ketamine to Perry, knowing the interpreter’s drug addiction problems.
On October 28, 2023, Perry was found unconscious in a hot tub in his Los Angeles home at the age of 54, and the autopsy report revealed that he died from the acute effects of ketamine.
That same month, Sangha and Fleming sold Perry 51 vials of ketamine, which were delivered to their assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, who injected Perry at least three times with the anesthetic sold by Sangha, causing his death.
The other two responsible for the case are Dr. Mark Chávez, sentenced to eight months of house arrest for conspiracy to distribute ketamine, and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, sentenced to 30 months in prison for distribution of the drug.
Iwamasa, who pleaded guilty in August 2024 to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death, will be sentenced on April 22; while Fleming, guilty of conspiracy and distribution of ketamine resulting in death, will be sentenced on April 29.
