“Today is not an easy day, today I went for a walk,” he shared Yuzzulka Pérezdaughter of the late artist Rubby Perez, as part of his reflection on April 8, the date of his birth, which coincides with the Jet Set nightclub tragedywhere his father died.
Yuzzulka decided to remember the merengue player with love, despite knowing that he will not receive a birthday call from him again, as he published on his Instagram account.
“Today is my second birthday without receiving your call. As I walked, I thought: what am I going to do with all this? Am I going to create more pain, more sadness, or am I going to create and transform all this into love?” he said.
“Today I decide to remember you from love, from beautiful memories, from peace,” he continued.
“Today, more than commemorating the sadness“I remember that you have a year in a better place,” he added.
In July 2025, three months after the fateful event, Yuzzulka began this healing process by congratulating herself, as if her father were doing so.
“Today we thank God together. Today I will hear you singing that song that you made for me and sang to me on every birthday,” he said.
“Today I hear you sing and congratulate me in my heart. Today I feel you here,” he said.
“Today I decide to let you rest,” he concluded.
