A serious environmental and health problem has been going on for years in district 6 of Kavajë, where dozens of residents denounce the spilling of sewage in the courtyards of their homes.
The complaint was made near “TakFak” by the resident Shpëtim Nova, who says that for about a decade he and other families have been facing this situation due to the blockage of the sewage network.
According to him, the well located in the backyard of his house is out of order, as a main well in the area is blocked.
He claims that the blockage was caused by a neighbor who dumped inerts into the well located on his property, putting it out of use. According to the residents, the neighbor’s house was surrounded by walls, making it impossible to intervene to unblock the sewers.
As a result of this situation, at least 10 families have been affected, who face health risks, environmental pollution, destruction of crops and heavy smells every day. Residents say that passing through yards has become difficult, while the fear of the spread of diseases remains high.
They demand urgent intervention from the responsible authorities to resolve the situation and put an end to a problem that has been going on for years.
