The English club, Arsenal, qualified for the European Champions League final, after its victory over the Spanish club, Atletico Madrid, today, in the second leg of the semi-final, which was hosted in its stadium in London.
Coach Arteta’s Cubs settled the confrontation with an unanswered goal, scored by Saka in the 45th minute of the first half.
The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw in Madrid.
This is Arsenal’s first qualification to the Champions League final since 2006, when they lost the title to Barcelona.
In the final, Arsenal will face the winner of the match between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for tomorrow in the German city of Munich, noting that the first leg ended with the French club winning by five goals to four, in a confrontation described as a “premature final.”
For reference, the final of the competition will be held next May 30 at the Puskas Arena in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
