MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged local government units (LGUs) not to impede fuel deliveries in their respective areas of responsibility.
In a statement on Tuesday, the DILG cited Executive Order No. 110 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declaring a state of national energy emergency.
“Amid ongoing global oil supply pressures… restrictions such as truck bans and traffic coding should not impede the delivery of fuel,” the department maintained.

“Local chief executives are thus urged to exempt legitimate fuel tankers from legitimate petroleum industry companies from these limitations,” it stressed.
EO No. 110 was issued last March 24 in a bid to cushion the blow of the oil supply crisis driven by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Section 7 of EO No. 110 enjoins LGUs to allocate personnel, funding and other resources to support the national government’s measures to address the crisis.
“Local governments play a vital role in ensuring that essential goods such as fuel are delivered without delay. We count on your full cooperation,” the DILG said.
“Ensuring the uninterrupted movement of fuel supply is critical to sustaining economic activity and protecting the welfare of our people during this period of global energy disruption,” it added. /mr
