FlowPipe aims to structure a local industrial offer adapted to the growing needs of water networks, irrigation and major structuring projects undertaken by the Kingdom.
Industry : The Plastima Group has inaugurated a new industrial unit in Mohammedia, “FlowPipe”, dedicated to the production of GRP tubes for hydraulic projects. Completed with an investment of 52 million dirhams, this installation will create 83 jobs and strengthen local production, replacing imports. With an initial capacity of 200 km of tubes per year, the unit aims to support major water-related projects in Morocco, by supporting the development of hydraulic infrastructure and contributing to the industrial and water sovereignty of the Kingdom.
The Plastima Group has reached a new stage in its industrial development. On Monday, at its Ech-Chellalate site in Mohammedia, the group inaugurated its “FlowPipe” unit, specializing in the manufacture of glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) tubes, intended in particular for major hydraulic projects in the Kingdom. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour.
This new installation, which mobilized a total investment of 52 million dirhams, is part of an agreement concluded with the State in December 2024, illustrating the group’s desire to strengthen its production capacity and contribute to the country’s structuring projects. This unit will enable the creation of 83 stable jobs and will contribute to strengthening national industrial capacity, as well as the dynamics of import substitution in a strategic technical segment linked to hydraulic infrastructure.
With an initial production capacity of around 200 kilometers of tubes per year, expected to be reinforced over the coming months, FlowPipe aims to structure a local industrial offer adapted to the growing needs of water networks, irrigation and major structuring projects undertaken by the Kingdom.
Mr. Mezzour underlined on this occasion that this project is part of the implementation of the High Royal Guidelines aimed at strengthening the industrial sovereignty and water sovereignty of Morocco. For the minister, the new unit supports major Royal projects in the field of water, particularly in terms of water transfer, adding that it also contributes to strengthening local manufacturing capacities, replacing imports. For his part, the CEO of the Plastima Group, Yassine Benmlih Fath, explained that the commissioning of this unit constitutes an important step in the growth of the group, by making it possible to structure an industrial capacity dedicated to a strategic segment, while providing a local response to the growing needs linked to hydraulic infrastructure. This unit meets, according to him, international standards as well as Moroccan standards. He also specified that this project is part of a national dynamic marked by significant investments in the field of water.
In terms of figures, the solutions developed by this unit cover diameters of up to 3 meters, with pressure resistance capacities of up to 32 bars and a rigidity class of up to 20,000 N/m² and more, thus meeting the requirements of large hydraulic projects.
Note that this project takes place in a context marked by a sustained investment effort in water-related infrastructure, driven in particular by the National Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation Program, which mobilizes significant resources to sustainably secure the Kingdom’s water resources. Through this unit, Plastima wants to support the growing needs generated by the development of water networks, irrigation systems and associated infrastructure, while contributing to the reduction of dependence on imports for this type of technical solutions.
