Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, together with Deputy Prime Minister Dimovski and Minister of Foreign Affairs Timcho Mutsunski, paid tribute to Gotse Delchev, stressing that the Government will continue to cherish his ideals and preserve his work as a lasting value for future generations.
– On behalf of the Government, we paid an eternal memorial to the great, Macedonian hero Gotse Delchev. We want to show that we will do everything so that his ideals and the fight for an independent Macedonia remain eternal – said Mickoski.
He emphasized that Delchev’s work does not only apply to the Macedonian people, but also to all citizens living in the country.
– Let’s remember his image and work and pass it on to the generations to come, because it is our obligation – said the Prime Minister.
In his address, Mickoski also sent a message that the values that Delchev stood for are not fully respected even today.
“Unfortunately, the values that our great man believed in are still not respected and implemented by some member states of the European Union,” he said.
According to the Prime Minister, Gotse Delchev was a person ahead of his time and left a deep mark on Macedonian history and identity.
– He left an indelible mark on Macedonian history and identity – stressed Mickoski.
In the end, the Prime Minister said that the honoring of Delchev should continue in the future.
– May his memory be eternal and that every year on this day future governments continue to commemorate his image and work – said Mickoski.
