The Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization (MyanTrade) hosted a virtual meeting on 29 April to discuss the potential of exporting Myanmar’s Paw San rice to the United States.
The director-general and officials from the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, the consul-general and officials from the Myanmar Consulate-General in Los Angeles, USA, the Myanmar commercial attaché to the US, officials from the Department of Agriculture, representatives from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) and representatives from Well Luck Co Ltd of the United States attended the meeting.
MyanTrade Director-General Dr Htein Lin and Consul-General Daw Win Lei Phyu of the Myanmar Consulate-General in Los Angeles delivered opening remarks. Afterwards, MRF President U Ye Min Aung and officials discussed matters with representatives from Well Luck Co Ltd regarding procedures to export Myanmar’s Pawsan rice to the US and the FDA regulations of the US.
Sending a sample of Myanmar’s Pawsan rice to the US and then conveying about one container of Myanmar’s Pawsan rice as an initial stage was discussed, MyanTrade stated. — NN/KK
