The person responsible for forming the new cabinet, Ali Al-Zaidi, received wide official and international welcome, amid assurances of his support for completing his mission within the constitutional deadlines and forming a government capable of facing internal and external challenges. Amidi called in a blog post on the X platform yesterday to “support the taxpayer and cooperate with him to accelerate the formation of the government in a way that serves the interest of Iraq.” While caretaker Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed the need to proceed with the formation of a government capable of facing crises and challenges. A statement received by Al-Zaman yesterday explained that “Al-Sudani was received at the Zaidi government palace, where the overall situation in the country and the region was reviewed.” The two sides stressed (strengthening unity of ranks and working in a spirit of partnership to form a government that represents all Iraqis). In addition, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, blessed Al-Zaidi’s appointment. In a statement yesterday, Barzani renewed his support and work with him to form a comprehensive government that promotes stability and reconstruction. For his part, the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, called the Zaidi, to congratulate him on the occasion of his assignment to form the new government. Barzani said during the call yesterday, “We support addressing issues in accordance with the constitution and looking forward to an era of security and stability.” Forces and parties also welcomed Al-Zaidi’s nomination, as the head of the Al-Hikma Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, considered in a statement yesterday (the appointment of Al-Zaidi represents a turning point that carries broad hopes). Meanwhile, the head of the Al-Nahj Alliance, Abdul Hussein Al-Musawi, praised in a statement yesterday the efforts to resolve the entitlement. On a related level, the head of the Taqadum Party, Muhammad al-Halbousi, confirmed in a statement yesterday (his support for Al-Zaidi’s nomination, due to his experience and economic vision). The Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais al-Khazali, a Zaidi, congratulated Waad al-Khazali yesterday (assigning him a glimmer of hope towards stability and building a strong state). Meanwhile, Al-Zaidi discussed with Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, during a phone call, the consolidation of joint cooperation. During yesterday’s call, the two sides confirmed “strengthening relations to serve the interests of both countries.” At the same time, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed Al-Zaidi’s appointment.
