Children and teachers from the Ashgabat Döwletliler köşgi Palace took part in the Turkic Children’s Games Festival, which was held in Istanbul from April 28 to 30.
Children from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and various regions of the Republic of Türkiye participated in the festival.
The children’s festival was organized by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye with the support of the Organization of Turkic States, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The opening ceremony and main events of the forum took place at the Rami Library, located in a historic XVIII-century building in Istanbul and serving as the city’s cultural and educational center.
In his opening speech, Turkish Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci noted that this festival is being held for the first time with the aim of popularizing the national children’s games of the Turkic world. These games trace their origins back to millennia of historical unity and simultaneously play a special role in the development of children in harmony with the national culture and spiritual values of their peoples.
Over the course of three days, residents of Istanbul, as well as visitors to the city, had the opportunity to watch children’s games from the Turkic world, various creative performances, play and learn together, and sample the national dishes on offer.
Children from the Döwletliler köşgi Palace presented games such as “çılık”, “yağlyga tovusdy”, “yüzükbukdy”, “ayterek-günterek”, “gözdändy”, “chopan bilen möjek”, “düzzüm”, “bäşdash”, “jikge-tükge” and “üçem”, which aroused great interest among all those present.
The Döwletliler köşgi Palace is an institution in Ashgabat designed for children left without parental care, as well as for children under state guardianship.
