The decision, approved by city chairman Nguyen Van Duoc, follows a proposal from the construction department on maintaining the sites introduced during the 2026 Lunar New Year period.
According to the construction department’s proposal, sites designated for temporary parks include 135 Nguyen Hue–39 Le Loi, the Le Thanh Ton–Nam Ky Khoi Nghia–Le Loi–Nguyen Trung Truc block, 152 Tran Phu, and 33 Nguyen Du and 34-36 and 42 Chu Manh Trinh.
Other plots at 8-12 Le Duan, 87 Cong Quynh, 74 Ho Hao Hon–289 Tran Hung Dao, 7 Le Thi Hong Gam and 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung will continue under existing investor plans combined with facade improvements.
Authorities said the parks must not change land-use purposes, delay project timelines or create additional land-related legal procedures.
They must also ensure urban aesthetics, environmental hygiene and public security during operation.
Temporary public parks at sites including 33 Nguyen Du Street and 34-36 and 42 Chu Manh Trinh Street will operate only until the land is handed over to lessees, after which they will be removed as planned.
The city has allowed managing units to maintain the parks using private or other lawful funding sources, including sponsorship.
At a site on Vo Van Tan Street, local authorities were tasked with seeking private funding for maintenance, or submitting budget proposals if no sponsors are secured.
Relevant departments have been assigned to monitor implementation, handle legal issues and advise on funding where needed.
