Albania is a small country, where everyone knows each other, has family, friendship, party, or even business ties. But, these same individuals make different decisions, sometimes favoring them and other times hitting them, even with great damages. Such is the relationship between Prime Minister Edi Rama and former deputy Vladimir Kosta, who is known as the owner of the Sky Tower in Tirana.

Kurti meets Kallas, they also discuss the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, “the March 14 agreement is a new and positive momentum”

If previously both were part of the same political force, now their relationship is political – business, since Kosta also has a construction company, called “Lani”. A few months ago, their fates crossed in an action undertaken by the IKMT in Sauk, as the bulldozers of that Inspectorate demolished several villas of Lad Kosta, deemed illegal. Afterwards, the former MP said that he had permission and that the total volume corresponded to the documents, but it was already too late, as the only solution remains the court.

Meanwhile, in the last year, Prime Minister Edi Rama has placed his name and signature, as the chairman of the National Council of the Territory, on another construction permit, which also includes the company “Lani” of Lad Kosta. It is about a 19-story tower at the entrance of the “Ali Demi” neighborhood, next to the 9-year school “1 Maji”.

The names of both are again in the same document, where the prime minister seems to have amnestied the former deputy. In this permit it is stated that a construction permit is granted for the object “19-storey administrative structure ‘Union Bank – Hq Albania’, located on the Boulevard ‘Bajram Curri’ with the developer companies ‘Union Bank’, ‘Auto City’, ‘Arch Investor’ and the developer ‘Lani’ shpk” it is stated in this document.

Facsimile: The company “Lani” was founded in 1995 and is owned by Vladimir Kosta with 70% of the shares and Mirton Lika with 30%.

Vox News has learned that the company “Lani” is owned by Lad Kosta with 70% of the shares and his brother-in-law Mirton Lika with 30% of the shares, as the company was founded 31 years ago. In this project, the company is a builder, as it is learned that a part of the land was owned by the former deputy, who made an agreement with Edmond Leka, owner of Union Bank, Western Union and Union Net.

A few months ago, Vox News published the documents of this project, where it turns out that the tower will take a part of the street and the “1 Maji” school, to be used as premises for the multi-storey building. In the accompanying documents, it is written that the gross area where the project is located is 3.26 hectares.

It is further mentioned that the functions envisaged are the headquarters of one of the most important Albanian banks. The first 10 floors are for exclusive office use, while the top floors are designed to host functions of a more informal nature, bar/sky terrace usable for events of any kind.

From the photos of later projects, it appears that the tower project affects the entrance to the “Ali Demi” neighborhood. It even affects the territory of the “1 Maji” school, as well as the statue of the People’s Hero Ali Demi. It even touches the words “Ali Demi” which are actually the entrance to the neighborhood. So the street, the school, the square and the statue will change just to give permission for another tower.
