Two minor citizens of Tajikistan, who were in Russia without the supervision of legal representatives, were repatriated to their homeland, embassy reports Tajikistan in Moscow.
On April 29, with the assistance of the consular department of the embassy, the children were sent to Tajikistan.
“The event was organized in cooperation with the Department for the Prevention of Delinquency among Minors and Youth of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, in accordance with the Agreement on Cooperation between CIS Member States in matters of the return of minors to their countries of permanent residence,” the statement says.
The reasons why Tajik children were left without guardianship in the Russian Federation are not specified.
As a rule, the main reasons why minor citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan find themselves unattended in Russia and other foreign countries are most often the abandonment of children in maternity hospitals after birth; parents being under investigation; problems with documents or death of parents.
The Embassy of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation annually organizes events to return Tajik children to their homeland.
