On March 31, the Soyuz-5 rocket with a mock-up payload was transported along the cosmodrome railway line from the installation and testing building of site 42 and installed in the launcher of site 45 in a vertical position. For almost a month, general tests of the ground complex and the new rocket took place at the Baiterek launch complex.
The first test launch was carried out along a suborbital trajectory without launching a mock-up payload into low-Earth orbit. The main purpose of the launch is to check the operation of the launch complex equipment, engines and launch vehicle systems, and software.

The Baiterek space rocket complex (SRC) is a joint project of Kazakhstan and Russia to create a ground-based space structure at the Baikonur complex for space launches on a rocket with environmentally friendly fuel components.
Earlier it was reported that the night sky over Almaty and Bishkek illuminated the launch from Baikonur.
