American media confirmed, on Sunday, that the suspect in the shooting incident, which occurred during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, attended by US President Donald Trump, in Washington, DC, is a 31-year-old citizen of California.
The same sources confirmed that the suspect “is called Cole Thomas Allen, 31 years old, and is from the Torrance area in California.”
An FBI official confirmed that “the suspect shot a member of the Secret Service,” noting that “he was not injured.”
The American official pointed out that “an armed person tried to breach the security barriers at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.” Last night, President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, were hurriedly escorted from the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner by Secret Service personnel after a man opened fire on security personnel.
An FBI official said the gunman shot a Secret Service agent.
About two hours after the incident, Trump told reporters at the White House that the security personnel survived thanks to his bullet-proof vest, and that he was in “good condition.”
