The session for the election of the president of Kosovo was postponed just a few minutes after the start.
The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, said that the works will continue from 14:00.
The session started late even though it was scheduled to start at 10:00.
A session for the election of the president of Kosovo was held yesterday at the request of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
Two candidates were proposed for the post of president: Feride Rushiti and Hatixe Hoxha.
Only the MPs of the LVV and non-majority communities participated in the session, while the opposition was not present, causing the necessary quorum of at least 80 MPs to be missing in the hall.
Despite this, the first round of voting took place.
In the voting, Feride Rushiti received 63 votes, Hatixe Hoxha did not receive any votes, while one vote was invalid.
The opposition and civil society representatives reacted after the session, stressing that the development of voting without a quorum violates the legitimacy of the process and the constitutional order of the country.
