The Office is deploying a targeted strategy to support the growth of one of the most beautiful destinations in the South of the Kingdom
Tourism: The Moroccan National Tourism Office is thinking big for Dakhla with a new strategy designed to consolidate the positioning of the destination. The details.
The ONMT is pulling out all the stops in Dakhla. Traveling in the city, teams from the Moroccan National Tourism Office are embarking on a new phase of consolidation and acceleration to support the rise of the destination. Concrete measures are thus announced by the Office with the aim of attracting Moroccan and foreign tourists.
Gathered alongside the Regional Tourism Council, local operators and territorial authorities, the ONMT teams initiated a series of strategic meetings intended to align priorities and activate concrete levers for growth.
At the heart of this mobilization, the objective is to take Dakhla-Oued Eddahab to a new milestone by consolidating its positioning in high-value segments, notably sports, nature and experiential tourism.
The ONMT thus deploys a structured approach based on four operational pillars: air, marketing, digital, and distribution.
Accessibility constitutes the first lever activated. The ONMT has entered into several structuring partnerships with national and international companies to directly connect Dakhla to its priority markets via new point-to-point routes, particularly in France and Spain, strengthening direct access to the destination. The objective is to sustainably open up Dakhla and secure sustained growth in international flows.
Intensifying promotion is also a priority. The destination benefits from a reinforced system based around digital, content creation and influencer marketing, with an amplification of campaigns in strategic markets. Media partnerships and presence at major international events, such as IFTM Top Resa and FITUR, anchor Dakhla in the global tourism landscape.
At the same time, specific work is being carried out to establish a strong identity for Dakhla, beyond kitesurfing, by promoting its seaside, natural and experiential positioning.
Finally, strengthening marketing. The ONMT is consolidating its partnerships with tour operators and reservation platforms in order to increase volumes, extend the length of stays and promote the local offer. The objective is to capture a clientele with a higher contribution and support the upscaling of the tourism ecosystem.
National tourism is also emerging as a major strategic lever for the ONMT, requiring a strengthening of development and promotion mechanisms. The objective is to stimulate domestic demand by encouraging more Moroccans to discover Dakhla, through targeted actions, an adapted offer and a structured promotion of the assets of the destination.
The ONMT clearly identifies the destination as a territory with high potential to be supported as a priority.
This field mission led by the ONMT is part of a logic of direct action, with close coordination between public and private actors. It aims to remove obstacles, accelerate projects and ensure a controlled growth trajectory.
With this mobilization, the ONMT confirms its commitment to making all of the country’s destinations benchmark destinations, combining performance, sustainability and value creation.
