Invited to the “Adevărul” Interviews, Victor Ponta recommended George Simion to nuance his public speech, directly criticizing the language used by the AUR leader to address the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan.
Invited Tuesday, April 28, at The “Truth” InterviewsVictor Ponta commented the censure motion filed against the Cabinet led by Ilie Bolojan, but also the latest developments on the political scene.
Former Prime Minister Victor Ponta gave a piece of advice to George Simion, at a time when AUR is going through a period of political growth and the leader of the sovereignists is increasingly present in the foreground of public life: to moderate his speech and to avoid inappropriate statements to political opponents.

“I would take George Simion aside and tell him: “Sir, don’t use such terms when you talk about the president”, because I don’t know what he said the last time about the “paraplegic”… I mean, I don’t know how to tell him: “George, keep your mouth shut, don’t let your mouth speak without you, it’s a shame””. commented Victor Ponta.
The former prime minister, recognized for the diplomacy with which he approaches public discourse, insisted that, regardless of political tensions, differences of opinion or the caliber of the opponent, certain limits should not be crossed in the public space.
“I can’t agree with that, that he said good to Nicuşor. It’s not true. It’s not said, it’s not done!”, insisted Victor Ponta.
The former prime minister’s recommendation comes after he declared, in the same interview, that the PSD should not exclude from the start a dialogue or even a possible collaboration with the AUR, because, in his opinion, politics sometimes requires the opening of communication channels even with parties considered inconvenient.
“Why not talk to GOLD? You might need to rule with them,” pointed out the former prime minister, emphasizing, however, that a possible political rapprochement does not mean the unconditional acceptance of all the statements or positions expressed by the AUR leaders.
