21 case studies
The first English-language work devoted to educational case studies in the field of purchasing and supply chain, Pedagogical Case Studies in Purchasing and Supply Management is co-edited by Morgane Fritz, HDR professor at Excelia Business School, alongside Laurence Viale, Stephen Kelly and Vikas Kumar.
Published by Springer. This work of 21 educational cases highlights two strong markers of Excelia Business School: highly developed research in supply chain management and a firmly established educational culture of cases.
The book explores, through concrete situations, the transformations that are reshaping supply chains today. Among the topics covered: sustainability, resilience, responsible purchasing, circular economy, logistics, supplier risks, digitalization or even data-driven decisions… It is aimed at teachers, trainers, the academic community and practitioners. It was co-edited with Laurence Viale of the IESEG School of Management, Stephen Kelly of Salford Business School and Vikas Kumar of the University of Portsmouth. The book explores the world of purchasing and the supply chain through 21 business-oriented case studies.
They articulate theory and practice around very current organizational challenges: sustainable purchasing, tension in supply chains, circularity, urban logistics, supplier relations, digital transformations. Case studies are therefore intended to confront students with concrete trade-offs, constraints, stakeholder interactions and decision-making under uncertainty. Inspiring cases both for teaching and for professional practice. “Case studies occupy an essential place in the teaching of purchasing and the supply chain, they confront students with concrete decisions, changing contexts and the complexity of reality. The 21 case studies in the book will both make students think and inspire practitioners,” underlined Morgane Fritz, teacher-researcher at Excelia Business School.
