Dugolli before the session: The opposition is blocking the process for electing the president

Vetevendosje Movement MP Enver Dugolli has stated that the situation regarding the election of the president is clear and that the parliamentary majority has already been determined for candidate Feride Rushiti, reports Ekonomia Online.
Before the start of the extraordinary session, Dugolli emphasized that Rushiti represents a figure acceptable to everyone and not just to a political entity.
“The issue is very clear, we have two candidacies, and one that we have decided on: Mrs. Feride Rushiti, an honest lady, elected by vote, who I believe would do good to our country and the entire society. So, she is not from Vetëvendosje, she has never been from Vetëvendosje, she belongs to all of us, so we should all be together and elect her,” he declared.
According to Dugolli, the opposition’s stance is not related to the candidate, but to the aim of blocking institutions.
“This is showing that, unfortunately, the opposition has never had a problem with the election of this president. For them, it is the only opportunity to block the state, to block the government and the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo,” he added.
Asked by journalists about allegations of constitutional and procedural violations during the voting process, Dugolli rejected these claims, describing them as unfounded.
“The summons to the session are for all deputies of the Republic, without distinction. So the summons is sent, has been sent, and there are even continuous calls from the Speaker of the Assembly and I believe that nothing, no one is violating the constitution, no procedures, nor regulations. This accusation is completely baseless,” said Dugolli.
He called on opposition parties to participate in the session and contribute to the decision-making process.
“I invite once again, also through the media, the opposition parties to bring their MPs, not to hide behind the scenes here in the Assembly of the Republic, but to come and debate and make decisions that are beneficial for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” he added.
