Guadalajara.- During his master class at the Guadalajara International Film Festivalthe drag artist C-pher established a position on the moment that the drag culture in our country.
From the stage, the Chilean and winner of the program “The most Dredge”assured that Mexico has become “the epicenter” of drag in Latin America. Not only because of visibility, but because its representatives have begun to occupy spaces beyond entertainment.
That growth, however, has also brought about dynamics that worry him; And from his experience on the Mexican scene, C-pher questioned the idea that the Conflict is a way to gain notoriety.
“Many ‘new breed’ believe that fighting, attacking others or making them feel less is the best way to make yourself known, and that is not the case,” he said.

The artist also spoke about the obstacles she had to face to establish herself on the Latin American scene, among which the fear of being rejected by her own family stood out, something that in the end did not happen.
“They didn’t understand what drag was, but it was important to me.”
The process of fulfilling her dreams led her to leave her surroundings and move to Mexico, over time, she said, it was here where she found greater recognition tI love his person as well as his work.
In that context, he called on those who begin this expression not to allow others to define their identity or their creative decisions.
“Sometimes, as Latin Americans we suffer a lot, but it is also nice that we celebrate ourselves,” he expressed.
The artist closed her participation by inviting people to support new generations and the cultural spaces that open space for these proposals, at a time when drag, she said, continues to expand its borders.
