Andrea Del Boca She is one of the most attractive participants of Big Brother Golden Generation and it always gives a lot to talk about: their secret romances, the relationship with his mother and with his daughter, the confrontations in reality, their allies and their enemies. THE NATION spoke with Enrique Torreshusband of Anabella Del Boca and author of successful soap operas such as Celeste, Celeste always Celeste, Antonella, Black Pearl, among many more. Torres, who in total wrote 23 novels translated into 21 languages and broadcast in 80 countries, He told how he sees his sister-in-law on the program, What did he say to him before entering and what does he think of his confessions on the reality show and his enemies. In addition, he reviewed his love story with Anabella, whom he met during an interview with the actress.
—Did you imagine your sister-in-law in Big Brother?
—Andrea can do whatever she wants. He always plays for what he does and is always credible. He had already been on a cooking show, hosted by Wanda Nara, and people really liked his participation. It works in any format. I never saw big brothernor when she lived in Argentina (she has lived in Los Angeles, United States for 25 years), but it seemed like a wise move for the production to have called her.
-By?
—He is a character that does not leave anyone indifferent. It awakens passion in many countries. It has fan clubs everywhere. When we did Black Pearl for YouTube, They contacted me from almost all of those clubs. Even from Albania. How many characters from Argentina have a fan club in Albania? It was always a special phenomenon.
—Did he tell you he was going in?
-The one who told me was Anabella, who is the one who is in permanent communication with her; Not now that she’s locked up. My mother-in-law is 95 years old and the two of them, along with her brother Adrián, are always in contact to solve any problems that arise. I have received comments about Anabella and Adrián’s supposed indifference towards their mother. It’s nonsense. It is an unnecessary fiction. And it is not worth giving importance to those who promote such nonsense. With one living in Los Angeles and the other in Miami, it is logical that Andrea has more presence with her mother. It’s like that. Now, if anyone, they are going to find it where there is none.
—What did you say to him before entering the house?
—I wished him luck. Andrea was forced not to work for many years. They barely processed her, In 2019, a part of society condemned her without the right to any defense. Many projects that were in full development were postponed indefinitely. His career was interrupted. Therefore, when my wife told me about her participation in G.H.I was happy. I could finally go back to work. Something that throughout her life was normal, natural, now happened again: Andrea was going back to work.
—Do you see her in G.H. or do you spy on something?
—I don’t watch it because I don’t watch the program. I didn’t even see him when I lived in Buenos Aires. I did see two small videos that involved me. one is when a lady (Sol) trashed the soap opera as a genre and the millions and millions of viewers it has had around the world. Obviously, I felt trashed. That’s why I responded. I know that if you read my answer, you may not have understood anything, but I told you what I felt.
—What do you think about the intimacies he tells about his life?
—I don’t have an opinion because I didn’t listen to or watch the program. And even if I had seen it, I wouldn’t give an opinion either. Andrea repeated many times that what she likes most about “her private life” is the second word: private.
—And about the friends and enemies in the reality show and the declaration of love from one of your companions?
—The only thing I saw in a video of just over 40 seconds was that uncontrolled and threatening person, expressing his general aversion and contempt towards the human species and his disqualification towards people who do not think like him. Andrea always lived surrounded by the affection of her millions of fans. And, of course, there are also those who are now called “haters”, professional haters. Fortunately, he always ignored them. He didn’t let himself get hurt. And regarding the declaration of love, I only wish him that I hope he achieves the same thing that I have with his sister.
—The distance you have with Andrea, is it because of the kilometers that separate them or is it emotional?
—So much goes the pitcher to the fountain… This question had to come (laughs). It was repeated a lot in recent weeks. Do I really have to say how many kilometers there are between Buenos Aires and Los Angeles? I don’t know if you have any affection that lives far away, in another country. I do. My eldest son, Feliciano, lives in London, with his daughters, Nina and Maia, my granddaughters. And I can hug them two weeks a year, for sure, because every August they come to my house to spend part of their vacation. Of course WhatsApp keeps us connected, but I still haven’t managed to pet my granddaughters or hug them through a screen. We share laughter, emotions, celebrations and blows with the screen.
—And with your other son?
—My second son, Lautaro, lives with his family in Barcelona. The same: essential weekly contact. But hugs and kisses are always accumulated and exchanged in those ten days a year that we see each other, usually in Barcelona. Except for surprises like last Christmas, when he suddenly appeared at home. Or “redepente”, as Niní Marshall said. But, returning to your question, Anabella is connected almost daily with her mother and her entire family. And that’s it… I had understood that fiction is not made in Argentina, but allow me to doubt it, since what I have seen in recent weeks is fiction. Unnecessary. Inconducive.
—You have a great 43-year love story with Anabella, did you meet through Andrea?
-Something like that. It’s a nice story. I am the one who told Andrea’s romance with Silvestre and that family hated me (laughs). At that time I was working at Editorial Perfil and I traveled to Mexico to interview Luis Miguel, and from there I went to New York where Fontevecchia lived. But that week he was not there and he told his wife to wait for him. So I had a few days off, I found out that Andrea was there and I called her; My intention was to make the first note with Silvestre, together. She told me that she was traveling to Puerto Rico to do a play and that, if I decided to go, she had no problem. And also ask Silvestre. So I traveled to Puerto Rico and there I met Anabella at a hotel called La Concha. I was with Andrea and the mother, going down the stairs, and I was downstairs. The most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life.
—In recent years you made two very successful films, what other projects do you have?
—One is already released: the movie What the heart says. Their slogan is: “Seeing the world through their eyes will change yours forever.” The protagonist is a 9-year-old boy, autistic. I was excited to write it together with my son Feliciano and it moved thousands and thousands of Mexicans. And, more than a project, I have a dream: to make it seen in Argentina. I hope some distributor plays it because it’s worth it. All the entities that work to ensure that autism is not invisible support us, but we need a distributor that “takes the risk.” I’m sure he won’t lose. It is an experience that does not leave you indifferent. It won many awards at various festivals. All Latin American entities on autism love that film, and in Argentina, APAdeA, wants Mirtha Legrand to be the godmother, because it is a beautiful story. A large percentage of couples with autistic children separate and, in general, the one who leaves is the father. In this film, the one who left, because the diagnosis was not supported, was the mother. And the baby grows up with the father. It is a film of infinite love between a father and a son.
-Why do you think they don’t want to release it in our country?
—Because she is Mexican. And in Argentina the only Mexican thing that matters are the prestigious directors who film in Hollywood. I think the last Mexican film that was made in Argentina was And your mom toowith Gael García Bernal. They even rejected it at the Mar del Plata Festival. It was at the Barcelona Festival and in Mexico it had a record collection. And we filmed it in Tijuana with a budget of 500 thousand dollars. I hope some distributor realizes that it is worth releasing it.
