SAN MARINO – Andrea Kimi Antonelli has won the Formula 1 world title, becoming, at twenty years old, the youngest champion in the history of the category. A historic result, achieved in the second year in the top automotive series, which also aroused enthusiasm in the Republic of San Marino.
The driver’s success represents a new record for international motorsport. San Marino, which has always been linked to motoring culture and located in the heart of the Motor Valley, expressed its appreciation through the Secretary of State for Sport, Rossano Fabbri.
“There are goals that go beyond the purely competitive sphere to become symbols of dedication, vision and pure talent,” declared Fabbri, underlining the emotion for an undertaking destined to enter the history of Formula 1.
The Secretary of State also recalled the first meeting with Antonelli, which took place when the pilot was not yet of age: “I said then that he was predestined, and yet today even I have to admit that he jumped ahead in an unimaginable way”.
Fabbri also highlighted the human and technical qualities of the young champion, recognizing the value of a path built on family principles and the right values. “The Republic of San Marino applauds this extraordinary success and salutes an undertaking that will remain indelible,” he concluded.
To celebrate the world title, a special event is already planned on Titan, during which citizens and fans will be able to welcome the new champion and celebrate the result achieved together.
