Las Palmas de Gran Canaria/The Cuban artist Alejandra Glez, resident in Madrid, presents between two watersa ritual performance that addresses transatlantic migration between Cuba and Spain based on their own experience of displacement.
The Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean constitute the symbolic axis of the proposal. Water appears as a historical, cultural and spiritual bridge between both territories, but also as a living archive of the journeys, memories and identities that accompany those who emigrate.
The presentation is part of the fifth edition of Vision and Presence, a cycle dedicated to women creators, promoted by the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and curated by Semíramis González. The initiative comes to Gran Canaria through collaboration with the CAAM and brings together performance proposals conceived for the museum spaces.
Gustavo García Cruz, responsible for the ceramic pieces, and Kiki Nexxus, in charge of sound production, collaborate in the creation of the piece.
Free entry until capacity is reached.
