New details emerge from the investigation file of SPAK about the villa in Dhërmi, which is suspected to belong to the former deputy prime minister Belinda Balluku. In the investigative materials, there is also a photograph showing a red box filled with bundles of 50-euro banknotes.
The photo was sent on July 17, 2021 and was found on the phone of Lavdrim Smone, the husband of the woman who cleaned Balluk’s apartment in Tirana.
The sanitarian’s husband, together with his wife and daughter, traveled from time to time to Dhërmi to clean the villa. Their transportation was organized in some cases by Balluk’s personal driver.
According to the file, the furnishings and investments in the property were made according to the preferences of the former deputy prime minister. Meanwhile, mobile phone data shows that Balluku had been using the villa continuously since 2019.
The property, with an area of 103 square meters and a plot of at least 300 square meters, has been seized by court decision.
SPAK’s file includes a total of 31 defendants, among them five builders and two private firms. Arbër Abazi, Pandeli Carapuli, Paqsor Buzi, Artan Sako and Ramë Geci are on the list of accused persons.
Another important part of the investigation is related to the tender for the construction of the Llogara Tunnel, where more than 10 people have been charged. In addition to accusations of violation of equality in tenders, investigations also include abuse of office. Among them is the former General Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Viola Haxhiademi.
