The Arengo Request n.1 of 2 April 2023 for the naming of Piazzale Lo Stradone after Federico Bigi is about to be definitively implemented. During the session of 30 September 2026 of the Permanent Council Commission IV, the Secretary of State for Territory and Environment, Matteo Ciacciconfirmed that the choice was shared and agreed with the Castello di Città Council.
The path was born from the awareness that the naming of places must belong first of all to the community that lives there. Dedicating a central and popular space like Piazzale Lo Stradone to Federico Bigi intends to preserve the memory of a figure who marked the public life of the Republic and served the institutions, transmitting his memory to the new generations.
Pursuant to article 7 of Law no. 72/1995, once the process in the Commission has been completed, the administration will begin the executive phase in the next few weeks to
officially complete the dedication.
We read verbatim in the decision: “On this Request the decision has been made. In agreement with the Castello di Città Council we will implement
to the naming of Piazzale Lo Stradone a Federico Bigi in the next few weeks. The method. We shared the route with the Castello Council, because the names of the places belong first of all to the community that lives there. The process is defined and now we move on to the implementation phase. Because it’s the right choice.
Federico Bigi is a figure who has marked the public life of the Republic. Dedicating a central and popular place like Piazzale Lo Stradone to him serves to preserve the memory of those who served the institutions and pass it on to the new generations.
