THE VENERABLE Lennox John has passed away. John, who served sports in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in many capacities died on August 2, 2026.
While John was servant to various sporting disciplines, it was his contribution to Cricket that has stood out.
He was a member of SVG Cricket Association’s Executive for 27 years.
Remarkably, he served 17 of these years as president.
Additionally, John was at the helm of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control WICBC from 1991 to 2007.
Regionally, John played his part in West Indies Cricket administration, being a member of the then West Indies Cricket Board, spanning 24 years, 1983 to 2007.
Additionally, John gave service to the West Indies Cricket Board for 24 years, from 1983 to 2007.
His managerial skills saw his appointment as Manager of the West Indies Under-15 team to the ICC World Cup 2000 in England.
Another of John’s inputs to the sporting landscape of SVG was his astute knowledge as a Cricket, Football and Netball commentator.
These go with his years serving as a sports panellist at the National Broadcasting Corporation. At that same institution, John for years, had a mid-day slot, where he gave critical analyses on various aspects of sports. Searchlight extends condolences to
