The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, discussed the most prominent issues of recent concern to public opinion, during the meeting he held with representatives of the national press, which will be shown this Monday evening, starting at nine in the evening, on television and radio channels.
According to a video clip containing excerpts from the upcoming regular media meeting, President Tebboune highlighted a number of prominent security and national files, most notably the fight against terrorism, the fire at the Childhood Paramedic Home in Mohammedia, and confronting neighborhood gangs, which have become an obsession for citizens.
The President of the Republic affirmed that the state is waging a fierce war against neighborhood gangs, reiterating the authorities’ commitment to protecting citizens and resolutely confronting all forms of crime that threaten the security of society. The President also pledged to stand by Tunisia in the face of any external threat threatening it, stressing that Algeria will confront any attempt to bring terrorism to the borders of its eastern neighbor, saying: “Whoever follows the example of Tunisia or threatens Tunisia with it, we will let him go to his parents’ tent.”
On the other hand, he spoke about the state continuing to implement its measures aimed at improving citizens’ purchasing power and enhancing social gains, saying: “We will raise the value of retirement grants, the minimum wage, and increase salaries again.”
Regarding visas, President Tebboune confirmed that he had never previously requested a visa. He had never talked about the visa issue with French President Emmanuel Macron, adding that he “did not ask for an apology or compensation, because Algeria does not beg.”
