The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saghir Saadawi, announced a package of new procedures for school entry 2026-2027, which includes canceling the teaching of the French language in the third year of primary school and maintaining the English language, in addition to organizing some educational materials, stressing at the same time that the results of the competition for hiring teachers under the title of the year will be announced soon. .
The minister’s statements came today, Saturday, during his supervision of the opening of the national symposium to prepare for school entry 2026-2027, where he explained that these measures fall within the framework of continuing to reform the educational system and improving schooling conditions and the quality of academic achievement.
Saadawi confirmed that the Ministry decided to re-adjust and arrange some educational materials at a number of academic levels in line with the requirements for achievement and the specializations of the people, while allocating a larger hourly volume for applied work, especially in the final sections. He added that the materials related to these arrangements and how to implement them will be specified in an official publication that will be issued within the next two days.
Regarding teaching foreign languages in the primary stage, the Minister announced that it was decided to teach the English language alone in the third year of primary school, with English and French being taught together starting in the fourth year of primary school, within the framework of reviewing educational programs and strengthening English language teaching.
New professors competition
The Minister of Education also revealed that the competition for hiring teachers under the title “Year 1” has reached its final stages, noting that the ministry’s interests continue to scrutinize the candidates’ files, which number one million and 65 thousand files, in coordination with the public service interests.
Saadawi said that the process is in its final stage, reassuring the candidates that the results will be announced soon, adding: “The process is at its end with the public office and we will soon announce the results.”
In a related context, the Minister explained that the education sector is turning a page that has witnessed many achievements, stressing the continuation of completing reforms in implementation of the vision of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at developing the educational system.
Saadawi, on behalf of the educational family, expressed expressions of appreciation and respect to the President of the Republic, appreciating the care he gives to the national education sector, and stressing that the budget allocated to the sector had a significant impact in embodying various programs and reforms.
At the conclusion of his speech, he pointed out that improving the professional and social conditions for sector employees represents one of the most prominent priorities for the next stage, which contributes to enhancing the performance of the educational family and improving the quality of education.
