KUWAIT: Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar said Lebanon will not be used as a base for any activity that could harm Kuwait or GCC states, stressing expanding security coordination with Kuwait as a model of Arab cooperation. Speaking in Kuwait during an official visit, Al-Hajjar said Lebanese security agencies are in continuous coordination with their Kuwaiti counterparts to counter terrorism, organized crime and drug smuggling, adding that Beirut will act on any intelligence provided by Kuwait and is ready for full cooperation on investigations and related security requests.
Al-Hajjar said he reviewed Kuwait’s security experience during visits to the general department of nationality and travel documents and the criminal security sector, noting ongoing intelligence sharing and joint efforts that have produced “tangible results” in combating drug trafficking and preventing security threats. He added that a joint high-level committee between the two countries is in place, with Lebanon seeking to activate pending agreements to expand cooperation.

Al-Hajjar reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to safeguarding Kuwaiti citizens in Lebanon and protecting their property and investments, while stressing that narcotics remain a shared regional threat. He also reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to its Arab environment.
At the general department of nationality and travel documents, Al-Hajjar praised the advanced technology and operational capabilities of Kuwait’s security services after touring the electronic passport system and learning about the country’s travel document technologies.
