According to the Jamjam reporter, the investigation of this case was put on the agenda of the capital’s criminal police in early June 1402, at the same time as a deadly fire occurred in one of the neighborhoods in the southwest of Tehran. When the officers arrived at the scene, they realized that this old house was a hangout for criminals, thieves, drug addicts, and smugglers. The deceased was a middle-aged man and according to the neighbors, he was the owner of this house.
Initial evidence showed that this man died due to smoke inhalation and burns. At first, it was thought that his death was due to an accident. Therefore, the agents investigated the family of this man, who did not file a complaint at that time. Thus, they took over his body and buried it. But after some time, fire experts announced that the fire was intentional. This clue was enough to turn the case into a criminal case. Later, the family of this man again came to the 10th Department of the Tehran Intelligence Police and filed a complaint, and the investigation entered a new phase. With the judicial order, the agents identified the people who had financial, work and family disputes and conflicts with the victim. In these years, more than 10 people were identified and summoned as suspects in this murder case. The agents investigated them extensively, but none of them had a role in this story and were released. Four years have passed since this crime, early last week, agents found a middle-aged man who had a dispute and conflict with the victim and had threatened him several times. He was the last person who left the victim’s house before the fire. After many searches, the police was able to identify this man’s hiding place around Tehran. With the judicial order, the criminal team went to his hiding place and arrested him.
The middle-aged suspect was transferred to the 10th Department of the Tehran Intelligence Police and began contradicting himself and claimed that he had no role in this crime and said: I am a criminal, I have a history of drugs and theft. I got to know the victim while going to his house. I had a fight with his friends over buying and selling stolen goods. The owner of the house was always in favor of them, and this caused us to fight several times, but I did not threaten him. I was even upset with him and I did not go to his house for a while. Believe me, I have no role in this story. I was in the camp when he died. After that, I went to my father’s house in the city and was there.
Reza Alaei, the investigator of the second investigation branch of the Tehran Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed this news and told Jam Jam: This middle-aged man is in custody as the only suspect in the case, and the police investigation of him continues in the 10th Department of the Tehran Intelligence Police.
