A practical class on Korean culture was held at the King Sejong Korean Education Center in Ashgabat to mark the handover of a new collection of educational, methodological, and visual materials to the center by the South Korean construction company Daewoo E&C.
Mr. Jung Won-ju, Chairman of Daewoo E&C, personally participated in the event during his visit to the educational center. Together with students and under the guidance of instructor Aybibi Marlyeva, he took part in crafting a traditional Korean “lucky pouch” (“bokjumeoni”). The students had the opportunity to put new materials to practical use as part of their studies and to interact with the guest.
During the visit, a ceremony was held to honor students who have demonstrated high achievement in learning the Korean language and have actively participated in the center’s educational activities. Commemorative gifts were presented to the most outstanding students.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of an invitation to the center’s top student for a three-month internship at a Daewoo E&C branch—an opportunity to gain practical experience at an international company and put her language skills to use.
Mylayym Hudaynazarova, Director of the King Sejong Institute in Ashgabat, noted the significance of such visits, emphasizing that integrating the donated materials into the educational process helps students gain a deeper understanding of the traditions and cultural heritage of the Republic of Korea.

According to the organizers, the event served as another example of the development of cultural exchange and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in the field of education.
