In the first comment on Statements of US President Donald TrumpIn which he said that he was “considering empowering Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon.” The latter stated, “The crisis in Lebanon is great and there is a closure in political solutions, and Syria is proposing a different approach to the solution, but the most important thing first is to stop the war and bombing.”
He added in television statements, “Some Lebanese parties remained captive to the past, and are thinking about the same previous data, even though Lebanon is exposed to a very large war,” stressing that “the crisis in Lebanon is great and there is a closure in political solutions, and Syria is proposing a different approach to the solution, but the most important thing first is to stop the war and the bombing.”
He continued: “Our vision for the solution that we presented with the United States is to stop the war and address the negative effects on Lebanon and Syria, and to have different economic, political and social solutions,” adding: “Stopping what is currently happening in Lebanon requires creative solutions, not outdated traditional ones.”
Trump and his statements about Lebanon
And he said Ahmed Al-Sharaa “President Donald Trump expressed his annoyance at what is happening in Lebanon as he seeks to stop the war there, and he spoke about Syria’s role in searching for a safe and calm solution, but the statement was misunderstood as if Syria would enter Lebanon tomorrow morning, adding: “Syria can be relied upon for a positive solution by restoring support to the Lebanese state, strengthening official institutions, and creating links between the Lebanese forces, including Hezbollah, because partial solutions have major problems.”
He went on to say: Lebanon is in dire need of making decisions and searching for strategic solutions, and I believe that it has a chance to get out of the impasse, but it needs ideas outside the box and jumping on traditional ideas. He continued: “We extend our hands daily to Lebanon, and the Syrian situation has many tools for a positive influence within Lebanon, but this depends on the Lebanese consensus in the first place, and Syria is concerned with the security and stability of Lebanon, and any imbalance in Lebanon affects Syria and vice versa.”
I believe in dialogue, because any closure of it means that the alternative is war, and we want to solve the Hezbollah problem and for Lebanon to remain alive, and we are ready to sit with everyone.
Trump on Ahmed Al-Sharaa
