Legendary rocker, singer-songwriter and writer, Srđan Marjanović, almost two years after the death of Bora Đorđević, presented the details of their friendship.
As he said, Bora was specific and revealed that he was present at the creation of the big hit Riblja chorba “Dva dinar, mate”, but he also referred to the new singer of the rock band.
“No one can match Bora and it’s not about singing, it’s about everything. Bora was specific and a very good friend of mine. I was sitting with him in Šumatovac when he ran to the toilet to cry because his girlfriend left him and after that he wrote the song “Dva dinar, mate”, which is one of the most beautiful rock and roll lyrics in my opinion”, said Srđan Marjanović for Telegraphand when asked if the new singer of Riblja Čorba can compare with the late Boro, he answered:
“These are all my friends and I wish them all the best, but no singer can be compared to Boro. That boy is ok, everything is fine, but that’s… Even Parni valjak, it’s fine, it’s a business, but he can’t be compared to Aki Rahimovski, he doesn’t even need to, let him sing in his own style. Time will tell if his popularity has fallen, but he certainly won’t have that roar and enthusiasm that they had with Boro, but you never know. Maybe they will make a big hit,” Marjanović pointed out.
