A toddler discovered in a parked car in Marseille has died as a result of heat stroke. The 18-month-old child was discovered in a car in the University Hospital parking lot on Tuesday, the university announced on Friday. According to consistent sources, a parent had forgotten the child in the car, although it is unclear whether it was the father or mother.
The parent works on the University Hospital premises but is not one of its employees. Someone called the fire department, who took the child to the emergency room. At this point, his life was already in danger. When the child was found, the temperature in Marseille was around 30 degrees. The French Mediterranean coast was not as badly affected by France’s recent heat wave as the rest of the country.
On Monday, two children aged two and four were found dead in a parked car in Carpentras, southern France. On Wednesday, a three-year-old child died while alone in a car in the Paris area. (APA/AFP)
