The university explained, in a statement yesterday, that according to the new update, the minimum for admission to the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry remained 90 percent, and to the Faculty of Pharmacy 80 percent, while the minimum for admission to all other colleges became 75 percent. The university stated that achieving the minimum required percentage does not guarantee admission, as students must fulfill all other admission requirements, including passing the standard tests of colleges that require this. The university confirmed that this update will not affect students applying for admission before its implementation date, explaining that it comes within the periodic review of admission policies and procedures, allowing students and parents sufficient time to plan and prepare early for university admission requirements.

The university also clarified that the update will be applied to students who will join it starting in the fall semester of 2027 (August 2027). She pointed out that the early announcement of this update aims to provide greater clarity to secondary school students regarding future admission requirements, and to enable them to plan their academic path early. The university also confirmed that it continues to provide the necessary information and guidance to students and parents about the various admission requirements, calling on everyone to follow the university’s official channels for any developments or additional relevant details. This update comes within the framework of Qatar University’s ongoing efforts to develop admission policies in line with its academic goals and educational mission.
