SIBU (June 26): A resident has raised concerns over several dead pigs allegedly dumped in a tributary near Salim here, urging the relevant authorities to investigate the incident immediately.
He said the carcasses were found near Sungai Balik in the Salim-Stabau area, near a water pumping station, sparking fears over potential health and environmental hazards.
“The main issue is that the location is near the water pumping station. If not for that, I might not be this worried,” he told The Borneo Post.
He called on the relevant authorities, including the Health Department and the local council, to investigate the matter and take swift action.
He also urged stricter monitoring and enforcement to prevent irresponsible dumping that could endanger public health and pollute waterways.
The resident hopes the authorities will respond promptly to address the issue and identify those responsible.
