    Kuwait weekend heat peaks at 47°C


    KUWAIT CITY, June 25: The Meteorological Department has forecasted hot to very hot weather conditions throughout the weekend, with temperatures becoming milder during nighttime hours. Kuwait is expected to experience active winds that may lead to dust being stirred up in open areas. Acting Director of the department Abdulaziz Al- Qarawi told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical forecasting models indicate that the country will be influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by hot air mass and northwesterly winds. Al-Qarawi disclosed that Friday will be hot, with northwesterly to variable winds that will be light to moderate in speed, ranging between eight and 35 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 44 to 46 degrees Celsius. The sea will be slight to moderate, with waves reaching heights of one to four feet.

    Friday night is expected to be warm, with northwesterly to variable winds that will be light to moderate in speed, ranging from six to 30 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. The sea will remain slight to moderate, with waves between one and three feet high. Regarding Saturday’s weather, Al- Qarawi said conditions will be very hot and relatively humid in coastal areas. Winds will be northerly to variable and light to moderate in speed, ranging between eight and 30 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 45 to 47 degrees Celsius. The sea will be slight to moderate, with waves between one and three feet high. He added that Saturday night will be warm, with northerly to variable winds that will be light to moderate in speed, ranging from six to 28 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. The sea will remain slight to moderate, with waves between one and three feet high. (KUNA)
