The Yemeni people expressed, through the majestic million-man marches that took place in the capital, Sana’a, and the governorates, their categorical rejection of any abuse or targeting of Islamic sanctities, against the backdrop of the offensive statements made by the criminal Trump, in which he insulted the holiest places on earth, Mecca, and the Qibla of Muslims, the Holy Kaaba.
The massive marches confirmed that attacking the Holy Kaaba and other Islamic sanctities is a direct assault on the faith of more than a billion Muslims around the world, stressing that the sanctities of the Islamic nation are a red line that cannot be compromised or accepted for any violation or abuse.
The bitter truth is that America during the era of Donald Trump has unequivocally revealed the essence of the policy that has been governing its foreign relations for decades, which is based on subjecting international relations to the logic of narrow American interests, regardless of the interests of allies or the commitments of traditional partnerships.
This was reflected in the widening gap of differences with many friendly and allied countries, leading to a decline in the level of understanding with NATO countries, which raised serious questions about the future of some alliances that for decades formed a basic pillar of American influence.
What is certain is that America today is facing a noticeable decline in its image and standing on the international scene, which has made it appear less capable of leading international consensuses and more involved in crises and disputes internally and externally.
Peace has never been the preferred option in American foreign policy since it raised its flags on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean more than two centuries ago. Although its political life does not exceed 250 years, the bulk of this history has been linked to wars, military invasions, and interventions in the affairs of other countries.
The recent war between the United States and Iran came to reveal more features of American policy to global public opinion. This was evident in the refusal of America’s closest allies, NATO countries, to engage directly in the aggression against Iran, in exchange for the Gulf Arabs’ rush to provide political, financial, and logistical support to America, and to harness their lands and capabilities to serve America’s aggressive policy against Iran, which reveals political stupidity that history will not forgive the leaders of the Gulf states.
