Romeo Beckham (23) dares to take the step from model to actor. The son of Football star David Beckham (51) and designer Victoria Beckham (52) makes his screen debut in the tennis romance “Forty Love”, as the industry portal “Variety” reports. There were also the first pictures from Studiocanal.
That’s what “Forty Love” is about
According to the report, the center of the story is Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar who is training with his father for a big title in Paris. The emergence of a charismatic new rival – played by Beckham – then challenges everything Sacha thought she knew about competition, ambition and herself. “For the first time he faces an opponent of a completely different nature – love,” says the synopsis. “A force that is as intoxicating as it is disturbing – and far more dangerous than anything he has ever encountered on the pitch.”
Paul Kircher (“Animal Kingdom”), Guillaume Canet (“Sink or Swim”) and Benjamin Voisin (“The Stranger”) play alongside Beckham. Catherine Deneuve makes a guest appearance. The film music comes from 070 Shake and Johan Lenox. Carlotti wrote the script together with Gaëlle Macé, whose works also include Rebecca Zlotowski’s “A Private Life” with Jodie Foster.

In French cinemas from the end of November
The film is directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, for whom this is his directorial debut. The film was produced by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary at Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, a Mediawan company, co-produced by Studiocanal and Manna Studios. Sélignac describes the film as a “sensual, romantic and deeply moving romantic fable and coming-of-age story” about the “demands of elite sport and everything that lies beneath the surface”. Studiocanal is also handling worldwide distribution and will release “Forty Love” in cinemas in France on November 25th. The start date in Switzerland is not known.
