Muscat – Arraya:
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met yesterday in Muscat with His Excellency Mr. Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, they reviewed the cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, and discussed the latest regional developments, especially the diplomatic efforts made to enhance security and stability in the region, after the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and stressed the importance of ensuring the security and freedom of international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and keeping it open to international navigation traffic without fees, in accordance with the rules of international law and the provisions of the memorandum of understanding, and It guarantees the sovereign rights of the countries bordering the Strait of Hormuz and the countries overlooking the Gulf.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar’s full support for the ongoing negotiations between the American and Iranian sides, to reach sustainable solutions to the outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, in a way that enhances regional security, contributes to opening new horizons for cooperation, development and prosperity, and achieves the common interests of the peoples of the region and the world.
