April 6, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Mongolian
wrestler Renchinpeljee Bavuudorj won the championship gold belt in the 65.8 kg
division at the prestigious youth international freestyle wrestling tournament Journeymen
Wrestling World Classic, held in Albany,
US, on April 4, 2026.
Renchinpeljee from the “New Gen Team” club secured seven consecutive victories across seven rounds
to claim the title. This marks Mongolia’s second championship belt at the
tournament, following an earlier win by teammate Narantulga D.
At
the same competition, Mongolian wrestlers also earned two silver medals, with Munkh-Ochir
M. (72.6 kg) of “Darkhan Erkhet” club and Byambadorj E. (102 kg), while Buyantogtokh
Ts. (129 kg) of “Tuv Arj” club claimed bronze.
A
total of over 480 athletes from nine countries competed in the tournament.
Participants will take part in a five-day international joint training camp
following the event.
