On June 20, Retro & New Cars Fest gathered hundreds of guests in Dushanbe, combining an exhibition of retro and modern cars, a competition of vintage images and a concert of popular Tajik performers.
The rain started just a few minutes before the opening of the Retro & New Cars Fest. It seemed that the downpour could disrupt the celebration: guests were hiding under awnings, the organizers were worried about equipment and cars. But after some time the clouds cleared, and the festival site quickly came to life.
Hundreds of Dushanbe residents and guests of the capital came to the annual Asia-Plus festival. Some were in a hurry to look at rare cars, others were in a hurry to take photographs as souvenirs, and some simply decided to spend a day off in an unusual atmosphere.
The main heroes of the festival, of course, were cars. Both modern models and cars that have long become part of history have gathered on one site.
Some of them attracted attention not only for their appearance, but also for the stories of their owners.

Many vintage cars turned out to be real family heirlooms that are passed down from generation to generation.

Thus, Muhammaddovud Gulov brought his GAZ-21 Volga to the festival, which he inherited from his father. This car has been in the family for about 60 years and, as the owner admits, it has long become a full member of the family.

Guests looked at the cars with interest, looked into the showrooms, asked the owners about the history of the cars and took photographs next to the examples they liked.
Vintage cars were of particular interest – each such car kept its own history and memories of several generations.

However, the festival was not only about cars. There were entertainment areas on the site, competitions and performances by artists. One of the most spectacular events was the retro image competition. Its participants appeared in outfits from different eras – elegant dresses with carefully selected vintage accessories, turning the festival into a kind of journey through time.

His partners helped organize the festival. The official auto partner of the event was the Vector International Auto Holding, and Freedom Bank Tajikistan became a reliable partner of the festival. The event was also supported by Gorilla, Ark Sanoat, G69-MOTOSCHOOL, the official Mercedes-Benz dealership in Tajikistan, Dehai Gulzor, Art Dushanbe and Airbaby.

The finale of the festival was an evening concert with the participation of popular Tajik performers.
Khujastai Mirzovali, Nilufari Sarboz, Afzalsho Safarzoda, Umedzhoni Burkhon, Takhmina Niyozova, Shabnam Sobiri, ZEBOxNO and Sobir Aminov took the stage.
For some, this day was remembered for rare cars, for others – for music and competitions, and for others it was simply an opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

But one thing is for sure: the rain could not spoil our holiday.
