According to the Central Bank, these threats result in particular in the diffusion of malware through fake apps Or match broadcast platformsas well as by phishing campaigns aimed at encouraging users to disclose sensitive informationincluding their login credentials and banking data.
In this context, Bank Al-Maghrib invites banks to strengthen their awareness-raising activities among their customers and to remind them of the main rules of vigilance, in particular caution before installing applications linked to the broadcasting of matches, avoiding links received by email, SMS or via social networks offering retransmissions or promotional offers, checking the authenticity of websites before any entry of personal or banking data, as well as immediately reporting to the bank any suspicious activity or unauthorized transaction.
The Central Bank also asks banking establishments to relay these vigilance messages to their customers through the appropriate communication channels.
