Last chance exam on June 22 and 23 in middle and high school:

This Monday, over the course of two days, remedial exams will begin across the various educational institutions for middle and secondary education, for the benefit of students who were not fortunate enough to achieve the annual transfer rate (10 out of 20), specifically those whose GPAs were limited to between 9.00 and 9.55, amid great mobilization and recruitment by the administrative and educational staff to ensure that the process proceeds in the best conditions, thus greatly reducing failure and school dropout rates and saving the current school season.
In detail, Al-Shorouk sources highlighted that these tests come this year in a context characterized by a tangible and noticeable increase in the number of students concerned with the opportunity to be rescued, which has put school administrations in a race against time to prepare procedure centers and provide appropriate psychological and organizational conditions for hundreds of students who are clinging to the opportunity to pass to the higher stage.
From this standpoint, our sources pointed out that, according to feedback from within educational institutions, mathematics came at the top of the subjects with the largest number of students studying in the intermediate and secondary levels, as the subject still constitutes a “stumbling block” for many students, because its low grades contributed over the three semesters to pulling the annual averages of many to the 9 mark.
In addition, the English and Arabic languages came in second place as the most studied subjects after mathematics, amidst students’ differing opinions about the nature of the questions expected to be asked.
Hence, there is a group that expressed great fear of the “last chance exam” in view of the great amount of psychological pressure associated with it, while there is another group that relies a lot on these tests, which may bring them success, save them from failure, and give them a valuable opportunity to transfer, because they refuse to miss the opportunity, so they worked hard, persevered, and reviewed their lessons in overtime, in a brave attempt to overcome the academic “stumble.”
Tight organization to save the school season
In the same context, the same sources highlighted that many directors of educational institutions had begun preparing for these exams early, immediately after the announcement of the results of the department councils, indicating in this regard that these exams represent an important pedagogical mechanism for reducing failure rates and school dropout, especially for categories that were very close to the success threshold (category 9 to 9.55 out of 20).
The process continues over two days, after which the correction processes and deliberations of the admission and guidance councils begin, to announce the final lists of successful students who will join the higher departments in the next academic season 2026/2027.
