Martyr Al-Hafiz, Bonyo 21, 2026 (SPS) – At the Ministry of Social Affairs and Women’s Promotion, today the Association of Sahrawi Developers held the first political symposium under the slogan: The Sahrawi Developer is a conscripted force to defend and preserve Sahrawi wealth, a symposium of the late Biya Larousi Mohamed Didan.
During his opening speech for this symposium, the Secretary-General of the Union of Sakia El Hamra and Wadi Ed-Dahab Workers, Brother Nafi Ahmed Mohamed, focused on the importance that the Union attaches to complementarity and specialization among all its bodies, pointing to the necessity of strengthening and empowering the intellectual and professional arms of the unions in a way that serves the political orientation and the Sahrawi public good.
During his speech, the Secretary-General of the Union of Sahrawi Workers referred to the role that the association will play in defending and preserving the Sahrawi animal resources, which are systematically targeted by the Moroccan occupation through mines, artillery, and drones, just as they target Sahrawi shepherds and defenseless people on the two banks.
At the end of his speech, Nafi Ahmed Mohamed explained that the Sahrawi Producers Association will contribute significantly to raising the level of food security for the Sahrawi people in light of the decline in humanitarian support for Sahrawi refugees from donors.
In his intervention, the Secretary-General of the Sahrawi Farmers Union, Brother Moulay Ahmed El-Bar, confirmed that the establishment of the Sahrawi Developers Association comes within the framework of a comprehensive strategy to frame Sahrawi development affairs within the framework and structure of the Sahrawi Farmers Union, pointing to the role that the associations will play in forming and qualifying Sahrawi frameworks in preparation for assuming the position entrusted to defending the interests and public policies of the Sahrawi people.
At the conclusion of the work of this first political symposium, the participants approved the bylaws of the association and its program of work for the next term. The symposium also issued a number of messages and recommendations that focused mainly on Sahrawi food security and camel wealth. The gathering culminated in the election of brother Mohamed Al-Najem Mohamed as president of the Association of Sahrawi Producers, who in turn will appoint his executive office in coordination and consultation with the Union of Sahrawi Farmers.
